“mr.clean, mr.clean”

i’m sure even in a hundred years that jingle’ll still be in my head.  those ad makers did a helluva job with that tune.  he’s a pretty handsome bald guy as well. ;)

as you know this month of march has been dedicated to some Serious Spring Cleaning:

takin’ those inked mistakes and puttin’ the shine on ‘em.

it’s a great feeling when someone walks in with an old/busted/bad tattoo, aren’t too sure what can even be done, and then gets blown away when they see their re-worked piece for the first time…

it’s freakin’ amazing.

*Rock Out*

wwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

this awesome piece has actually been changed/covered-up TWICE by me alone.  when the client first came in the sun was simply solid black, i added color to the piece.  it’s been over a year and the client wanted it to become something else; something that was more ‘her’ after all this time.  this piece has been able to grow/change/eVoLVE with her as she’s grown/changed/evolved over time.  pretty friggin’ cool. :)

i love doing color since it really gives me the chance to explore/expand/stretch/push the edges of my own creativity; i love everything in full-blown, vivid color — but that doesn’t mean i don’t throw down a black & gray piece every so often either.  black & gray is challenging in the fact that everything is so visible — line quality, control, etc.  i guess you could say black and gray can really show your true colors.

here are a few recent ones:
